We normally are never around during the XMAS holidays as my company has a shutdown that time and we try to travel but this year, we were around for the most part and decided to host a white elephant party. We also celebrated Sarayu's birthday during this party. For those of you who don't know what a white elephant party is, here is a brief explanation: Everyone brings a gift of a certain amount that the hosts set and which is gender neutral. During the gift exchange time, everyone draws a number. Then the person who draws #1 takes a gift from the middle and opens it. #2 has the option of "stealing" the gift from #1 or selecting an unopened gift. If #2 steals a gift, then #1 gets to take a new gift from the middle. #3 steals an opened gift or takes a new gift from the middle. If #3 steals a gift, that person, in turn, can steal a different gift or take a new gift from the middle. The game goes on this way until all gifts are gone. The only other "rule" is a gift can only be stolen 2 times. |
